Swim Team Competes in Final Home Meet

Brenau Swimming hosted NCAA DII Converse College (SC) and Warren Wilson College (NC), pulling off a victory over the Owls and close second to the Valkyries. Senior, Hannah Boudreaux (Lafayette, LA) was recognized for her exceptional career with Brenau University, and won all three individual events during the evening.

The Golden Tigers opened with a win in the 200 Medley Relay (1:53.16). Lisa Portwood (Marietta, GA) followed with a second place in the 1000 FR (11:56.77), with Petra Hanrahan (Pinckney, MI) contributing to points with a personal best of (12:03.6).

Boudreaux took the 200 FR (1:59.25), 100 Fly (1:00.40) and 500 FR (5:23.15), followed by Michelle Billeaud (Lafayette, LA) with second place nail biter in the 50 BK (28.54) and first in the 50 FR(25.25). Freshman, MK Jabbia (Slidelle, LA), took first in the 50 BR with a lifetime best of (31.59) and repeated with a easy first in the 100 BR (1:09.48). Jabbia capped off the evening with a second place finish in the 100 IM (1:03.87).

Junior, Monica Souther (Dalton, GA) achieved two personal best with the 50 BK (34.67) and 50 Fly (30.49).In all, the Golden Tigers placed first in seven of 14 events.

Next up, the Golden Tigers head to the Viking Invitational hosted by Berry College, Sat. Jan.19th.
