Brenau Ranks in the Top 5

The NAIA released the most recent top swim times this week and true to form, the Tigers ranked in the top 5 nationally in many of the categories.

Brenau ranked in the top 5 in each of the following relays with the foursome of Hannah Boudreaux (Lafayette, La.), Meredith Barrington (Macon, Ga.), Michelle Billeaud (Lafayette, La.) and Mary Katherine Jabbia (Slidell, La.) swimming each of the relays with the exception of the 800 M Free where Lisa Portwood (Marietta, Ga.) swam in place of Jabbia.

The top 5 relay finishes are as follows:

#3 7:56.04 800 Free Relay BU - GA 11/29/2012 8th Annual SCAD Invitational

Individually, The Tigers were equally impressive with the following swimmers achieving significant top finishes in their respective events:
Hannah Boudreaux - ranked No.1 in the 200 Breaststroke and 400 IM
Michelle Billeaud - ranked No.4 in the 100 Backstroke
MK Jabbia - ranked No.3 in the100 Breaststroke and No.4 in the 200 Breaststroke
Meredith Barrington - ranked No.9 in the 200 Butterfly
Kathleen Rossi (Clearwater, Fla.) - ranked No.9 in the 500 Freestyle
Lisa Portwood - ranked No.15 in the1650 Freestyle

The swim team will now take a much needed break before heading to Florida after the break for their annual Winter Training trip. Brenau will be in action next at home on January 18 before heading to the Berry College Viking Classic in Rome, GA on January 19.
