BU Swimmers Compete at Boo Bash Relays

Salisbury, NC - The Brenau swim team concluded their tour of North Carolina yesterday by participating in the Boo Bash Relays at Catawba College. The meet was a series of relay races, some of which were different than the ones the swimmers normally race in. There were seven schools in attendance and Brenau came up with 5th place.
Highlights for the Tigers included a 4th place in 300 backstroke relay (3:17.43), 4th in 300 breastroke relay (3:53.24), 4th in 500 free relay (5:07.72), 5th in 400 Medley relay, with Lisa Portwood, Julia Ferreira, Melissa Bofto and Ana Galesic (4:26.31) --- National qualifying time, and 4th in 400 free relay, Portwood, Ferreira, Bofto and Galesic (3:57.57) --- National qualifying time
"This was a great meet for the girls to get up, race and have fun swimming some unconventional relays," said Coach Blaire Bachman. "Our team was able to pull out two national qualifying relays out of this meet and I couldn't be more proud of them."
