Schweizer Leads Golden Tigers Soccer in AAC Postseason Awards
Waleska, Georgia- Members of the Brenau soccer team received 2025 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) soccer athletic and academic postseason honors, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Senior Sophia Schweizer led the award winners by being selected as a 2025 AAC All-Conference Second-Team performer for her play on the pitch.
Schweizer started all 18 games for the Golden Tigers, scoring two goals and notching one assist during the 2025 campaign. The Kennesaw, Ga. native also helped the Brenau defense to eight shutout performances.
Additionally, Schweizer joined teammates Ryalie Acker, Josselly Bautista, Sarah Cook, Lorena Gomes, Zyara Gonzalez-Galeano, Madison Kitson, Madison McMahan, Gladys Sepulveda, Abby Toscani, and Haley Wilton on the 2025 AAC All-Academic team. Team members are recognized for their academic excellence and recipients of All-Academic honors must maintain a minimum of an overall 3.25 cumulative grade point average and have achieved at least sophomore status.
Wilton also received recognition for her contributions to the Golden Tigers' soccer team by being named as 2025 AAC Soccer Champions of Character team member. Champions of Character team members best represent the NAIA's Five Core Values of Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship and Servant Leadership.
