Soccer Picked Tenth in AAC Preseason Poll

Waleska, Georgia- The Brenau soccer team received 92 votes and was selected tenth in the 2022 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Soccer Preseason Poll, the conference announced on Wednesday.

The Golden Tigers return eleven letter winners from last year's team including leading scorers Cindy Bonilla and Camila Penagos. The squad has significant depth and experience as seniors Stacy Mendoza, Itzel Rivera, Kory Rodas, Kajah Newton, Gizelle Evan and Karla Torresand junior keeper Jordan Smith and sophomores Emelie Guerra and Daroly Ramos add to the returning talent.

Brenau welcomes eight freshmen to the team as Josselly Bautista, Magali Bonilla, Hannah Listwin, Emily Nix, Gladys Sepulveda. Lizzy Smith, Isabel Tiul-Sheffler and Haley Wilton add talent and depth to the team.

Reinhardt (Ga.) led the voting with 220 points, including 10 first place votes, while Truett McConnell (215 points) was selected second.

The Golden Tigers open the regular season against Blue Mountain (Miss.) College in a non-conference matchup on August 29th at 4:00 pm eastern in Gainesville.
