Soccer Season Ends At AAC Tournament
The Brenau soccer team fell 3-0 to Columbia (SC) College in the opening round of the Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament on Tuesday in Columbia.
In the seventh minute, the sixth seeded Koalas scored as Amber Tanner found Ruby Hallam for the first goal of the match. Tanner then increased the lead in the 19th minute with her own goal to give her squad a 2-0 lead into the half.
After the intermission, the Koalas posted a third goal to seal the match with a 3-0 victory.
Columbia outshot Brenau 17-12 as Golden Tigers' goalkeeper Ashley Spring saved one shot in the match.
Brenau, which graduates three seniors, closes out the 2017 campaign with the tournament loss and looks ahead to the 2018 season.
