Soccer Ties Against Union

The Brenau soccer team opened Appalachian Athletic Conference play with a double-overtime tie against Union (Ky.) College on Saturday in Barbourville, Ky.
The host Bulldogs outshot the Golden Tigers 18-11 through regulation and two overtimes, however neither team could find the back of the net as the match ended in a 0-0 tie.
Brenau keeper Anela Melton earned seven saves, while the Bulldogs' keeper Juliana Schardong saved five shots in the scoreless match..
The tie was the second for the Golden Tigers (0-1-2), while the Bulldogs (0-3-1) added their first tie of the early season.
Brenau next hosts #16 University of the Cumberlands on Wednesday at 5 pm in Gainesville.
