North Forsyth's Johnson Commits to Soccer
Brenau soccer announces the signing of Elizabeth Johnson to the 2016-17 team.
Johnson is a native of Cumming, Georgia and was a standout player for both North Forsyth High School and the UFA-Athena A Under-18 team.
During her high school career, Johnson was a four-year letter winner who was named team Most Valuable Player for the North Forsyth squad. She is also an excellent student who is a math honor society member, an academic excellence award winner and an Advanced Placement student at her high school.
When asked about her commitment, Johnson said, "I'm very excited to have the opportunity to continue my soccer career with Brenau and be a collegiate athlete. The experience is going to be something I'll remember my whole life and I think Brenau is the best place for me to spend these college years."
Head coach Mike Lochstampfor noted that Johnson will be a great addition to both the team and the university, saying, "Elli will bring a lot to our program- as a player she has a great deal of experience playing as a center back but is also very capable in a central midfielder role. I'm excited about her ability to be effective in several positions. Additionally, she is a great person and I am very happy that she has chosen Brenau as the place to further her education. She is an excellent student and Brenau will be a great fit for her!"
Johnson, the daughter of Cindy Sacheli and David Johnson, plans to major in a Health Sciences field at Brenau.
