Soccer Players Receive SSAC Postseason Honors
Five Brenau soccer players were recognized by the Southern States Athletic Conference in the 2015 SSAC soccer awards on Tuesday.
Tiffany Raygor was selected as a 2015 SSAC All-Freshman team member for her play during her inaugural season. Raygor led the Golden Tigers with seven goals and was tied for the team lead with three assists. The Cumming, Ga. native notched two goals in her first collegiate match against Point (Ga.) University and matched those two goals against Brewton Parker (Ga.) College.
Carly Hill was selected as Brenau's Champions of Character honoree as the best representative of the NAIA Five Core values of Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Servant Leadership and Sportsmanship. Hill also produced a solid season for the Golden Tigers with two goals and three assist.
Hill was also selected as an SSAC All-Academic honoree for her outstanding performance in the classroom. Joining Hill are teammates Jasmine Brewster, Kaylee Ellison and Shelly Restificar as SSAC All-Academic team members. These honorees must have completed two terms of attendance and have earned at least a grade point average of 3.25.
"I am very proud of these women for their outstanding accomplishments- both academic and athletic," said head coach Mike Lochstampfor. "Their commitment to excellence both on and off the field is consistent with what all Brenau athletes strive to attain regardless of the sport they play."
