Heard and Raygor Sign With Soccer
Brenau soccer announces the signing of Sara Heard and Tiffany Raygor to the 2015-16 team.
Heard and Raygor were teammates at North Forsyth High School in Cumming, Georgia and played for three years under former Brenau University soccer player and assistant coach Dana Garner Chapman.
Heard was a three-time all-county selection and a two-time all-region selection at North Forsyth. Her accolades include being named as both Freshman of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. The standout started her collegiate career at University of West Georgia and also played for the Atlanta Soccer Fire United '96 elite club team.
Raygor was an equally acclaimed player during her high school career. She was a two-time all-county and all-region selection and was honored as the team's Most Valuable Player for her high school team and Freshman of the Year. She was also a member of the Georgia State Olympic Developmental Program and a member of the Atlanta Fire United ECNL team that captured the Super Y national championship.
"It's gratifying to see our recruiting has come full circle- to be able to sign these two players that were coached by my first signee when I began coaching at Brenau in 2002 is very exciting, said head coach Mike Lochstampfor. "Dana has had a huge impact on our soccer program-- first as a four year letter-winner, captain and all-conference player, then as an assistant coach for two years and now as a local high school coach having a positive influence on players like Tiffany and Sarah".
"Both will be huge for our program and will have an immediate impact in their respective positions on our team. I'm thrilled that Tiffany and Sarah have chosen to attend Brenau and play soccer!"
Heard and Raygor are the eleventh and twelfth commitments to the Golden Tigers soccer program for 2015.
