#18 Soccer Slips Against Faulkner
The #18 Brenau soccer team lost a close 1-0 match to Faulkner (Ala.) on Saturday.
In the first half, the Golden Tigers outshot the Eagles 4-3, but failed to find the back of the net. Both teams struggled to find offense early, taking a 0-0 tie into intermission.
In the 75th minute, Faulkner's Kassandra Carpintero finished at the far post to give the Eagles a late 1-0 lead. The Golden Tigers were unable to score the equalizer in the final fifteen minutes to take their third loss of the season.
After outshooting the Eagles in the first half, Brenau was outshot 3-1 in the second half and 6-5 for the match. Keeper Tori Brown saved one shot on goal in the loss.
Brenau (6-3-2) next hosts #8 Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College on Thursday at 6 pm eastern at Allen Creek Soccer Complex.
