Soccer Picked 17th in NAIA Preseason Coaches' Poll
The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2014 Preseason Women's Soccer Coaches' Poll with the Brenau Golden Tigers picked 17th in the nation.
After finishing last season with a program-best 10-1 SSAC record, Brenau sits in a familiar spot as the Golden Tigers come into the 2014 season ranked in the same spot that they finished in 2013.
Brenau is led by a host of seniors, including All-Americans Tori Brown and Elizabeth Campbell, SSAC All-Conference selection Vanessa Alexander and NAIA nationally-ranked assist leaders Jenny Knibbs and Kayla Madsen. The team includes five other upperclassmen to round out a strong core of returning players.
2013 SSAC Champion William Carey (Miss.) University led the conference selections at #9, while Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College was chosen #17.
The first regular-season Top 25 poll will be released on September 23rd.
Brenau opens the regular season on Saturday August 23rd when the Golden Tigers play host Tennessee Wesleyan College at 7 pm.
