Soccer Tabbed 3rd in SSAC Preseason Poll
The Brenau Golden Tigers soccer team was picked third in the 2014 Southern States Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Soccer poll.
After an outstanding 2013 season in which the Golden Tigers finished in second place and amassed a program-best 10-1 record in conference play, Brenau now looks to build on that finish in 2014.
The Golden Tigers return ten players from last season's #17 nationally-ranked squad, including All-American selections Tori Brown and Elizabeth Campbell.
Last year's SSAC champion, William Carey (Miss.) College was tabbed to repeat as conference champions as the Crusaders recorded 90 votes, including all 10 first-place votes. Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College-last year's third place finisher- was chosen as runners-up.
Newcomer Middle Georgia College will play a full season of SSAC games, but is ineligible for the conference championship because of their initial membership status.
