Golden Tigers Receive Votes in NAIA Ranking
The NAIA Women's Soccer Pre-season Poll was recently released and the Golden Tigers landed in the Receiving Votes category of the poll. Brenau was one of five SSAC schools named in the poll which featured the number one ranked team nationally- Lee University, followed by the University of Mobile (#5), with the Golden Tigers along with Auburn University-Montgomery and William Carey University receiving votes in the poll.
The poll is a reflection of the pre-season conference poll which picked Brenau to finish 5th in the competitive SSAC but doesn't necessarily take into account the final results from last season. The Golden Tigers surprised many last year by finishing 3rd in the conference after being picked 10th overall. Brenau finished with an overall record of 10-6-3.
Brenau is on the road for the first two games of the season this weekend as they head to South Carolina to take on USC-Beaufort on Friday at 5pm. This will be the first meeting of the 2 teams. On Sunday, the Golden Tigers will head down the road to for a match-up with the Bees of Savannah College of Art/Design. The Golden Tigers will be looking for their first win against SCAD. Match time is scheduled for 1pm on Sunday at the SCAD Athletics Complex in Hardeeville, SC.
