Brenau Overwhelmed by No. 8 Univ of Mobile
GAINESVILLE, Ga - The Golden Tigers soccer team faced off in another conference match, on Monday evening, against No. 8 University of Mobile. The Lady Rams defeated Brenau 5-1, now bringing the Golden Tigers overall record to 4-4-3 (4-2 SSAC).
Mobile and Brenau battled for possession of the ball, during the first half. The Golden Tigers managed to outshoot the Lady Rams 9-8; however, they were not able to score a goal. On the contrary, Mobile made 4 of their shots count, taking a strong lead of 4-0 before intermission.
Midway through the second half, freshman midfielder, Taylor Savage (Jacksonville, FL) ran the ball up the field, and scored the Golden Tigers' first goal of the match. Bringing the score to 4-1, the Lady Rams responded quickly by gaining momentum, and scoring a security goal, this brought their lead to 5-1.
Goalkeeper Tori Brown (Windermere, FL) stayed busy, for the 90 minutes of play. She made 6 saves, while allowing 5 goals.
The Brenau soccer team will host Truett-McConnell next Tuesday, October 11th, at Allen Creek Soccer Complex, at 7:30pm
