BU Soccer Signs Dynamite Forward
Gainesville, GA - The Brenau University Soccer Team has recently added another player to their roster, for the 2011-2012 season. Taylor Savage, a forward from Jacksonville, Florida, spent much of her high school career excelling on the field, through hard work and dedication. Since her freshman year, Taylor has made her presence known in the game; she went from scoring 10 goals her 9th grade year, to acquiring 12 goals her sophomore year. As a junior, Savage scored 19 goals, while also earning 8 assists, and dramatically improved her stats during her senior year, when she scored 30 goals, with 9 assists.
When Jacob O'Brien, Taylor's High School Coach, was asked about his former player, O'Brien responded in saying "she can play unselfish or be the focus of an attackshe has a great attitude and will be dearly missed at Bishop Snyder High School. I hope she can impress you as she has impressed all of us." Over the course of her athletic career, Savage was named Team Captain, as well as Most Valuable Player. Taylor was also recognized for her accomplishments, as she currently holds Bishop Sndyer's record for career goals, with 71. During her senior year, she was named to the All-First Coast Team, while also competing in the All-First Coast All-Star Game.
Soccer was not the only sport that Savage stood out in. She accepted the role as a dual-sport athlete when she competed for her school's soccer and track and field team. Taylor impressed the fans with her times as a sprinter, and the numbers she obtained in the long jump.
Head Soccer Coach, Mike Lochstampfor, stated "Taylor has great speed and will be a very valuable addition to our program. She will bring a lot to the team with her ability to play out wide in an attacking role or play up top as a front runner. Additionally, her attitude and work rate are excellent! I'm excited at Taylor's decision to sign with us- she performs well academically and I believe Brenau will be a nice fit for Taylor in many ways."
