BU Soccer Players Win Conference Awards

Atlanta, Ga - The Southern States Athletic Conference has announced the post-season awards for soccer and four Brenau players received recognition for outstanding acheivement this fall. Senior Midfielder Dolapo Obahor (Kaduna, Nigeria) was named to the East Division All Conference Team and was also recognized on the SSAC All Academic Team. Obahor scored eight goals this season, which ranked her 13th in the SSAC, to lead the Tigers and had one assist. She had a total of 55 shots, with 26 of those on goal, also leading the team.

Defender Tori Futrell (Savannah) also gathered two awards, qualifying for the SSAC All Academic Team and representing the Tigers as the Musco Lighting Champions of Character player. Futrell was named to the SSAC All Conference team in 2009. Forward Lauren Hagin (Hiram) and Midfielder Laura Hirst (Huddersfield, England) also qualified for the SSAC All Academic Team. Hagin scored one goal this season and had three assists.

" All four of these young ladies have been outstanding during this season and over the course of their careers. They are all very deserving of this wonderful recognition of their athletic and academic accomplishments!' said Head Coach Mike Lochstampfor.
