Brenau Falls to #12 Embry Riddle

Hardeeville, SC - The Brenau University soccer team wrapped up play at the SCAD Invitational yesterday with a 4-0 loss to the undefeated #12 Embry-Riddle Eagles. Junior midfielder Hanna Martin (Toccoa, GA) did a lot of work at midfield and won many balls for Brenau. Senior midfielder Lauren Hagin (Hiram, GA) also played a great game- making some nice runs up the flank and serving balls in, but the Tigers couldn't muster much offense.

ERAU scored two goals in the 14th minute of the first half to take a 2-0 lead into halftime. They added a third score in the 64th minute and finished it off with a penalty kick in the 78th minute.

"We played well in stretches and were able to get more going offensively than we did against SCAD," said Coach Mike Lochstampfor. "We continue to make progress but it was obvious why they are ranked #12 in the NAIA." Senior GK, Lisa Lesnick (Surfside Beach, SC) once again played outstanding in goal and the defense was solid once again, led by co-captain Tori Futrell (Savannah, GA).

Brenau will travel to Rome on Wednesday to take on former SSAC member Berry College.
