Obahor Leads Brenau to Shutout Win
September 18, 2009
Cleveland, GA- Junior transfer Dolapo Obahor (Kaduna, Nigeria) scored her first two goals of the season today as the Tigers soccer team won their third game of the season with a 2-0 shutout over Truett McConnell. Brenau is now 3-2-1 on the season and opens conference play this Saturday at home against Columbia, SC at the Allen Creek Soccer Complex. Obahor scored her first goal off a corner kick by Lily Futrell midway through the first half as BU completed dominated play with the ball staying on the Truett side of the field for the most part. The home team did not have any shots on goal in the game, making things easier for All-Conference goalkeeper Lisa Lesnick. Dola came up with her second goal in the second half on a nice play that was unassisted. Freshman Defender Taylor Bates turned in a strong performance that allowed the Tigers to dominate the middle of the field on a day that the rainy weather caused field conditions to be less than ideal. This Saturday's game has been designated as Kid's Day with prizes and contests to be held at halftime and an autograph session with the Tigers after the game and will begin at 3 pm.
