Lily Futrell Named Golden Tiger of the Week

Gainesville, GA- Senior striker Lily Futrell was named Golden Tiger of the Week today by the coaching staff at Brenau for the week of September 1-7 as a result of her outstanding play last week against two nationally ranked teams. The Tigers won both games and Futrell was a big reason for the outcomes.
Lily had 2 goals against NAIA Receiving Votes Union on Friday including the game tying goal in the first half. She then scored the 3rd goal to ice the game with less than 5 minutes left. On Monday against #24 Lindenwood, MO, she played one of the best games of her career and added the insurance goal in the last 10 minutes. But it was her play on the defensive side of the ball yesterday that was equally impressive and really kept BU in the game during a couple of tense moments. The Futrell sisters have now received this recognition for two consecutive weeks, as Lily's sister Tori won the award last week.
