Golf Places Third at Golden Tigers Invitational
Gainesville, Georgia- The Brenau golf team used two top-ten finishes and a host of other solid performances to place third overall at the Golden Tiger Spring Collegiate Invitational this week.
The third-place finish was the best home tournament result for the squad since 2021.
Junior Morela Boyd fired a consistent 81-82–161 (+19) to place sixth overall, while freshman Emily Minish posted a strong 83-83–165 (+22) to take ninth place.
Freshman Lainey Addison shot an opening round 93, but improved by six strokes in the final round for a two-day total of 180 (+36) to finish T17th. Senior Harper Davis rounded out the Golden Tigers with a 100-95–195 (+27) to place 27th.
In total, the squad improved ten strokes from day one to day two (357-347-704) to place third overall. Loyola (La.) captured top team honors with a 620, while Point (Ga.) placed second with a 665. Truett McConnell (Ga.), Montreat (NC) and Reinhardt (Ga.) rounded out the team finishers.
Loyola's Catherine Singletary earned low-medalist honors with a 76-74–150 (+6).
The Golden Tigers next hit the course at the Currahee Cup, hosted by Emmanuel (Ga.) College on March 15th-16th.
