Golf signs largest freshman class since 2019
Gainesville, GA. - Brenau Golf looks to build upon a solid first year under Coach Elam with an even better year two. The Golden Tigers have signed four in the incoming freshman class. Three girls from northeast Georgia and one from south Florida. This freshman class is the largest Brenau golf has signed since 2019 and tied for the largest in the team's history with 2014 and 2019.
"I am looking forward to getting our freshman on campus and being able to work with and develop them into great golfers. These four will help shape Brenau golf moving forward and I can't wait to see what they accomplish both on and off the course." said Elam.
Lainey Addison comes to Brenau from Stephens County High School in Toccoa, Ga. Lainey was the #1 golfer on Stephens County for the last several years and led them to the State Championship her senior year capped off with a top ten finish at the State Championship. "I choose Brenau because of the wonderful Coach, beautiful campus, great PT program and I'm still close to my family. I am looking forward to rushing a sorority, meeting new people and furthering my golf career!" said Lainey. "Lainey is an extremely fun person to be around. She has been making strides in her game and look forward to watching her contribute this fall." said Elam.
Audrey Bacic comes to Brenau all the way from Archbishop Edward A McCarthy High School near Hollywood, Fl. Audrey had a phenomenal junior golf career competing on the Gold Coast Junior tour, the JGA of Broward County and the South Florida PGA. She had several one-day wins and boasts a top JGS ranking. "I picked Brenau because how impressed I was with coach Elam and the team dynamic. I am looking to amazing golf seasons and new experiences." said Bacic. "Audrey is a great competitor and natural leader who will be an important part of our team both on and off the course moving forward." Said Elam.
Quinn Hawk comes to Brenau from nearby Seckinger High School in Buford, Ga. Quinn has excelled on the GSGA junior tour while being a regular contributor on the Seckinger golf team. "I choose Brenau because the campus is beautiful and the community draws my interest. I am looking forward to growing my golf game, building friendship and creating lasting memories." Said Quinn. "Quinn is an amazing person who will continue to get better and grow both on and off the golf course." said Elam.
Emily Minish comes to Brenau from Franklin County High School near Canon, Ga. Emily had a great junior golf career serving as the #1 on Franklin County and led them to the State Championship her senior year. Minish finished second in area and had a top five finish at the State Championship. Emily competed for several years on the GSGA junior tour and notched several top finishes. "I choose Brenau because it was a great opportunity, they have a great medical and health science department and I can really see myself growing as a golfer and person here. I look forward to meeting new people and playing at new golf courses." said Minish. "Emily is a fiery competitor who will bring fun and intensity to Brenau. She is someone who will contribute right away and will lead Brenau moving forward." said Elam.
Morela Boyd and Harper Davis will be back for their senior season as the Golden Tigers look to move up in the AAC conference.
The Golden Tigers will start fall practice at the end of this week in preparation for the fall season.
