Golf Places Seventh at Firehawk Invitational

Athens, Alabama- The Golden Tigers golf team shot a season-low 313 on the second day of competition to place seventh at the Firehawk Invitational, hosted by UT-Southern on Tuesday. 

Sophomore Laura Kniess continued her strong fall season by shooting 76-79-155 (+11) to tie for 14th place. 

Fellow sophomore Eryn Blakely also showed well with an 83-75-158 (+14) to tie for 23rd place. 

Other Golden Tiger finishers include senior Ylenia Alcibiade Bennasar (81-79-160/26th place), and juniors Kaylee Stickney (84-83-167/T35th place) and Sasha Baker (91-80-171/T41th place).

Overall, the team finished with a score of 324-313-637 to place only two strokes behind Point (Ga.) University. William Carey (MS) University captured the team title with an overall score of 581. 

The Golden Tigers next hit the links at the East Tennessee Collegiate Invitational on September 24-26th.
