Golf Finishes Fifth at Mountain Empire Tournament
Elizabethton, Tennessee- The Brenau golf team placed fifth at the Mountain Empire Intercollegiate Tournament played at the Elizabethton Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday.
The Golden Tigers improved 14 strokes from day one to day two to post a 351-337-688 and finish only seven shots behind fourth place Reinhardt (Ga.).
Individually, freshman Kaylee Stickney shot 84-79-163 to lead the Golden Tigers with a 10th place finish. Fellow freshman Sasha Baker also had a standout day with an 89-80-169 to place 18th.
Junior McKenzie McRee added a 91-84-175 to place T22nd and junior Haylee Rhodes posted a 87-94-181 for a T29th finish.
Milligan (Tenn.) won the team title with a 312-310-622, while Point (Ga.) (670) and Bryan (Tenn.) (679) round out the top three finishers.
Milligan's Alayna Perryman won low medalist honors with a 78-75-153.
Brenau next competes at the AAC Direct Qualifier in Adairsville, Ga. from May 1-3.
