Golf Places Second at Tennessee Wesleyan Invite
Niota, Tenn. - The Brenau golf team placed three players in the top fifteen finishers to capture second place at the Tennessee Wesleyan Invite held at Springbrook Golf and Country Club on Tuesday.
The team shot an overall 647 to place only five strokes behind SCAD-Atlanta for their best showing of the early fall season.
Sophomore Annika Blanton led the Golden Tigers with a third place overall finish. The Hoschton, Ga. native hit 11 pars in the tournament to fire a career-best 79-76-155 to finish only one shot from first place.
Niquole Mangal continued her strong fall season with a two-day 81-75-156. The junior improved six shots in the final round to rally to a fourth place finish.
Other Golden Tigers finishers include Megan Reddick (82-85-167/T13), Macie Hurst (86-87-173/T19) and Amber Clayton (90-83-173/T19).
SCAD-Atlanta won the team title with a team score of 328-314-642 (+66), while Bryan College's Taylor Williams and SCAD-Atlanta's Micaa' Thomas tied for individual low medalist honors with a 78-76-154.
The team next competes at the Fall Appalachian Athletic Championships in Elizabethton, Tennessee on October 8-9.
