Basketball Inks Pittman for 2021-22
Head coach Kris Stewart and the Brenau University basketball team announces the signing of Jill Pittman to the 2021-22 team.
Pittman, the daughter of Tracy and Kelly Pittman,is a combo guard from Crossnore, North Carolina and a three year starter at Mitchell High School for head coach Zack McCartha.
During her senior season, Pittman averaged 10 points per game and 5 assists and was named as both the Western Highlands Conference (WHC) Defensive Player of the Year and a 2021 WHC All-Conference player. She was also selected to the North Carolina Blue and White All-Star game and was voted best female athlete at Mitchell High School.
During her career, Pittman was a three-time WHC All-Conference team member and led her team to the state final four appearance two years in a row.
A standout athlete, Pittman also participated in softball, cross country, soccer and track and field. She is also a North Carolina High School Scholar and a member of the National Honors Society.
When asked about her commitment to Brenau, Pittman said, "I couldn't be more blessed with this opportunity to continue to pursue my basketball career at a higher level. I'm excited to work and grow as a player as well as accomplish goals academically through Brenau University."
Pittman plans on majoring in biology at Brenau and is the first signee for the 2021-22 basketball team.
