Hot Shooting Bulldogs Down Golden Tigers 79-54
Gainesville, Georgia- The Brenau basketball team fell to hot shooting Tennessee Wesleyan 79-52 in Appalachian Athletic Conference play on Saturday.
The visiting Bulldogs shot a blistering 14-28 (50%) from three point range and 15-16 (94%) to pull away with the victory.
Brenau cut into the Bulldog lead in the second quarter as freshman Katherine Fourie nailed a deep three pointer to cut the score to 33-26, but a three pointer right before the buzzer from Tennessee Wesleyan's Savannah Atkins kept the lead to ten at the break.
After intermission, Tennessee Wesleyan continued their hot shooting as the team shot 54% in the second period to pull away.
Fourie led all scorers with 16 points, while Hanna Grogan added 12 points.
Tennessee Wesleyan's Kaitlyn Strange led the Bulldogs with 14 points.
Brenau (6-7 overall, 3-6 AAC) next travels to face #17 Bryan (Tenn.) College (14-1 overall, 10-1 AAC) on Tuesday in Dayton.
