Mote Commits to Brenau Athletics
Brenau athletics announces the signing of Emily Mote to the 2015 basketball program.
Mote, a native of Toccoa, Georgia, is a 6'0 forward from Stephens County High School. During her senior season, Mote averaged nine points and nine rebounds for head coach Anthony Daniel.
Mote, who plans on majoring in Health Sciences, was an All-Region Honorable Mention selection as well as her team's offensive and defensive most valuable player. She was also active in her community as a volunteer for the Special Olympics and at a local nursing home.
"I was thoroughly proud and pleased as Emily's coach to see her earn an opportunity to play collegiately," said Coach Daniel. "She is a very intelligent young lady with self-driven motivation. I am sure she will be an asset to the Brenau athletic program."
"I am very happy to have Emily as part of our program," said Brenau head coach Kris Stewart. "She is a player who is just scratching the surface of what she can become and I am looking forward to watching her grow and mature as a player."
Mote, the first signee for the 2015 season, will also double as a softball player for the Golden Tigers.
