Zimmerman Named NAIA Scholar-Athlete
Junior Claire Zimmerman was named a 2015 Daktronics-NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Scholar-Athlete in a release from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics national office on Tuesday.
Zimmerman, a Nursing major from Woodstock, Georgia, led the Golden Tigers in three-point shooting percentage, three-pointers made and was sixth in scoring during the 2014-15 season.
She was also named as a Southern States Athletic Conference All-Academic (SSAC) team member along with four other teammates.
"I am very proud of Claire's accomplishments on and off the court," said head coach Kris Stewart. "She is a great representation of both our team and Brenau University. Claire has worked very hard for her honor and it is well-deserved."
Zimmerman was one of 104 basketball players recognized for this award nationally and only one of eight in the SSAC.
In order to be nominated, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior status.
