Cold Shooting Plagues Golden Tigers Against Reinhardt
The Brenau basketball team fell 68-41 to Reinhardt (Ga.) University on Tuesday as cold shooting doomed the Golden Tigers.
Brenau kept the game close in the early first half as Kalin Williams (JR/Palmetto, Ga.) drained a three-pointer from the wing and Anikee Combee (JR/Jonesboro, Ga.) knocked down four early foul shots. However, cold shooting and foul trouble plagued the Golden Tigers for the remainder of the half which allowed the Eagles to take a 12 point lead into intermission.
In the second half, the Golden Tigers made an early run to keep the deficit close as Autumn Dodson (FR/Jefferson City, Tenn.) and Claire Zimmerman (JR/Woodstock, Ga.) knocked down consecutive three-pointers. However, Reinhardt's size was too much to overcome and the Eagles slowly pulled away for the win.
Dodson led the Golden Tigers with nine points, while Williams chipped in seven points, five rebounds and four assists.
Reinhardt's Kateca Favors led all scorers with 22 points.
Brenau (3-5) next travels to Denmark, S.C. for a non-conference match against Voorhees College for a 7 pm tip.
