Zimmerman Signs with Brenau Basketball

Brenau University basketball coach, Kris Stewart, announced the addition of Claire Zimmerman to the 2012-13 Golden Tigers basketball team.
Zimmerman, a 5'8 shooting guard from Woodstock, Georgia was a member of the first Woodstock High School state playoff team, where she averaged 10 points per game. Zimmerman joins Brenau's first basketball signee of the year, Anikee Combee of Arlington Christian HS, who signed with the Golden Tigers back in early May.Claire is an outstanding student who plans on majoring in Nursing. She has served as her senior class Vice President at Woodstock High School, was a member of theNational Honor Society and was nominated for the Vince Dooley Award chosen by her teachers as having outstanding character, academic and athletic performance.
Coach Kris Stewart says that Claire's toughness, work ethic and shooting ability will help contribute to the team: "Claire is an exceptionally hard worker and a physical player. She is also a very good shooter. I am excited about what she brings to our team". When asked about signing with the Golden Tigers, Claire said that she "cannot begin to explain the excitement I have for the season. The feeling of being on a team and being part of something big is something I have always loved!"
