Brenau Drops Third Straight at Emmanuel

Franklin Springs, GA- Seniors Ashley Hagans and Meg Henson scored 17 and 13 points respectively tonight in SSAC basketball action at Emmanuel, but the Tigers fell short 73-59. Brenau is now 17-12 on the season and 6-9 in conference play, good enough for sixth place. Ashontti Lewis had a double double for Emmanuel with 19 points and 12 rebounds as her team goes to 17-11, 8-6. The Tigers led early in the game by as many as eight points, but fell behind 34-27 by halftime. The game remained close until the final seven minutes when Emmanuel was able to move the lead into double digits with superior rebounding and the ability to get the ball inside.The Tigers ended up shooting .404 from the field compared to .459 for the opponents, but could only manage to hit 8-26 three point shots and 5-11 from the free throw line. Emmanuel controlled the boards 35-24 which was too much to overcome. Senior Night is next as Lee comes to town on Thursday night for the final regular season game, which tips off at 6 pm at the Brenau gym.
