Gainesville, GA- Senior Sarah Ledford (Ellijay) continued her scoring tear tonight with 15 points to lead Brenau (16-8) over Truett McConnell 98-52. Ashley Hagans and Nikki Reed each contributed 12 points to the effort as 10 different players scored in the game. Paige Cooper just missed a double double with 11 rebounds and nine points and Freshman Olivia Williams had her career high with 11 rebounds to lead all players. It was a contrast in halves as TMC kept things close in the first half, trailing 39-31 at the half as the Tigers shot a woeful .325 from the field and the Bears hit at a .455 clip. The second half was a different story as Brenau's depth began to take a toll. The Tigers shot .522 from the field and ended up 14-29 from the three point line and TMC shot .333 in the second stanza. Brenau ended up dominating the boards 50-28 and forced 33 turnovers with their pressure defense. The Tigers will return to conference play on Thursday when they journey over to Southern Wesleyan for an important matchup as teams begin to position themselves for the conference tournament.
