Softball Voted Fourth in 2022 AAC Preseason Poll
Asheville, North Carolina- The Brenau softball team received a fourth place ranking in the 2022 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll, the conference announced on Tuesday.
After winning the 2021 tournament, the squad enters the 2022 season with 14 returning players, including 2021 All-Tournament performers junior Morgan Tyler and sophomore Hannah Patridge. The team boasts a solid core of seniors, including IF/OF Kasey Blair, IF Alyssa Maisonet, P Brooke Kibbe, C/OF Maygan Loparo, 3B/OF Madison Oliver and IF Shea Reagor.
Head Coach Devon Thomas also welcomes six newcomers, including sophomore transfer pitcher Sara Shaw to the team.
Golden Tigers amassed 150 total votes in the poll, including one first-place vote, to finish only 11 votes behind third-place Truett McConnell (Ga.). AAC regular season champs Milligan (Tenn.) topped the poll with 194 votes, while Reinhardt (Ga.) University garnered 175 votes.

The AAC Tournament is set for April 25-29 at the Brickyard Ball Fields in Kingsport, Tenn. The tournament field has been expanded to 10 teams with the No. 7-10 seeds playing in a play-in game on Monday, April 25, to see which two teams advance to the double-elimination portion of the tournament.
