Softball Takes Two Versus Clark-Atlanta
Atlanta, Georgia- The Brenau softball team swept a pair of game over Clark-Atlanta University in non-conference play on Sunday.
In game one, the Golden Tigers scored three runs in the third inning and four runs over the final three innings for a 7-2 victory over the host Panthers. Junior Autumn Conaway led the offense, going 2-4 with three RBIs, while freshman Claire Fendig went a perfect 3-3 at the plate with a stolen base.
Starting pitcher Jessica Rathje pitched a complete game, allowing only three hits and two runs to capture her fifth win of the season.
In game two, starting pitcher Chloe Fambrough pitched 5 1/3 innings to help Brenau take a 2-1 win. The sophomore held Clark-Atlanta (4-7 overall) to only one run on five hits. Freshman Alyssa Maisonet added an RBI in the victory.
Brenau (11-1 overall, 2-0 AAC) next travels to Tennessee Wesleyan University (9-1 overall, 6-0 AAC) on Tuesday for a 2 pm AAC doubleheader.
