Rathje Named SSAC Pitcher of the Week

Jessica Rathje has been named the SSAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for her performance during the week of April 4-10, the conference office announced Monday.

Rathje, a freshman pitcher, tossed a pair of complete-game shutouts to lead the Golden Tigers to a doubleheader sweep of No. 2-ranked Auburn Montgomery (Ala.).

The Glencoe, Ala., native surrendered 11 hits over 14 innings of work. Rathje produced a spotless 0.00 ERA on the week, while striking out seven to capture her 14^th and 15^th wins on the season.

Rathje's wins were the first shutouts of the Warhawks this year, while the Golden Tigers' back-to-back wins were the first doubleheader sweep of Auburn Montgomery during the 2016 campaign.

Rathje ranks among the conference leaders in wins (3^rd, 15), saves (4^th, 1), innings pitched (4^th, 124.1), strikeouts (6^th, 80), innings pitched per game (7^th, 5.65), earned run average (10^th, 1.86), opponents batting average (11^th, .229), hits allowed per game (11^th, 5.86), walks allowed per game (11^th, 1.80), strikeouts per game (15^th, 4.50) and earned runs allowed (19^th, 33).

On the national level, the freshman ranks 14^th in wins and 35^th in innings pitched.
