Rathje Commits to Softball
Brenau softball announces the signing of Jessica Rathje to the 2015-2106 team.
Rathje, a native of Glencoe, Alabama, is the daughter of April Taylor and Brad Rathje and a graduate of Glencoe High School. The pitcher also played for the Southern Force Gold and head coach Dale Palmer.
During her high school career, Rathje was a four-year letter winner who tallied 760 strikeouts, hit .450 and held a 1.12 era. She was a three-time All-Area selection, a two-time All-Region pitcher and an All- State selection.
"Jessica is a strong, left handed pitcher that has all the pitches in her arsenal and will add depth to our pitching staff," said head coach Devon Thomas. "She played with one of the top travel teams in the country and has a great deal of experience pitching at the highest level of travel ball. I look for her to make an immediate impact on the mound for us."
Rathje is the first signee of the 2015-16 season for the Golden Tigers.
