#20 Softball Blows Past Coastal Georgia

In a rain-interrupted doubleheader, the #20 Brenau softball team used a strong pitching outing from Jenny Shepherd to defeat College of Coastal Georgia 3-1 in game one on Friday.
The senior struck out 15 batters en route to her 16th win of the season. Shepherd allowed two hits and one solo home run to stifle the Mariners.
Senior Katie Bolin drove in two runs, while Shepherd added an RBI single to account for the three Golden Tiger runs. Victoria Fontana accounted for the other two hits for Brenau.
Game two was cancelled due to inclement weather.
Brenau (26-11,10-10 SSAC) will face Brewton Parker (Ga.) College on Wednesday.
