#2 AUM Sweeps #20 Brenau

The #20 Brenau softball team lost a pair of games to #2 Auburn-Mongomery (Ala.) University 7-0 and 5-0 on Wednesday.

In the opening game, the Warhawks capitalized on first inning Brenau fielding errors to take a 4-0 lead. The Golden Tigers held the Warhawks in check until the fifth inning, but were unable to generate any offensive production of their own. AUM added three more runs in the bottom of the fifth to ensure the win.

Junior Jenny Willis took the loss for the Golden Tigers as the junior pitched six innings allowing seven runs while striking out one.

In the nightcap, Brenau still could not find an offensive rhythm as the Golden Tigers scattered eight hits but failed to score any runs.

Freshman Victoria Fontana and senior Katie Bolin each had two hits for the game.

Senior Jenny Shepherd pitched five innings allowing seven hits and four runs to take the loss.

Brenau (25-11, 10-10 SSAC) hosts College of Coastal Georgia in a 4 pm Friday doubleheader.
