All-State Selection Commits to Softball
Brenau softball announces the signing of Victoria Fontana to the 2013-2014 softball team.
Fontana, the daughter of Jill and Gregory Fontana is a graduate of Jackson County High School. She was a 2012 AAA 2nd Team All-State selection, a Region 8 AAA 1st Team selection and a member of the All-Northeast Georgia team.
In her senior season, Fontana hit .363 with 20 hits and 42 RBIs. She has also competed in soccer, basketball and track.
"Vic is a great overall athlete with one of the best outfield arms I have seen. She does a great job breaking on the ball and covering and has tremendous range in the outfield," said Head Coach Devon Thomas. "She fills a void left in the outfield due to our recent graduations. Vic also has a good eye at the plate and is a solid hitter".
Fontana, who plans on majoring in psychology, is the fourth signee of the offseason.
