Tiffany Schandera Named Golden Tiger of the Week
Gainesville, GA - Tiffany Schandera, a sophomore from Columbus, GA has been named Brenau University's Golden Tiger of the Week. The 3rd baseman had a strong performance against Brewton-Parker College. This past week, she assisted the Golden Tigers in beating the Barons 7-0 and 14-5, in their double header. Furthermore, Schandera took the opportunity to build the team's momentum, from the plate, by hitting in the lead off position. She has earned a batting average of .750, while accumulating a slugging average of 1.500, for the series.
The determined sophomore has proven why she has been able to possess a starting position, on this extremely competitive team. While playing in the intensely aggressive double header against Brewton-Parker, Schandera managed to steal a base, and play the entire game error free! At bat, she earned 3 singles, a double, a triple, a homerun, and 4 RBIs.
Schandera has contributed greatly in ensuring that the Brenau University Softball Team consistently poses as a double threat, both offensively and defensively. With that said, there is no wonder why the Golden Tigers are currently #6 in the nation, with a record of 22-2 (6-0). Fans have the opportunity to cheer on Tiffany Schandera and the rest of the Golden Tigers, on their home field. The double header is set to start this evening at 4 and 6pm, for their conference match up against Southern Wesleyan University.
