Ellen Black Wins GTOW Honors

Gainesville, Ga- Sophomore Ellen Black(Toccoa Falls)was named Golden Tiger of the Week for the week of March 28-April 5 for her performance in the Shorter doubleheader last Tuesday. She pitched a complete game shutout victory against the #13 nationally ranked Hawks in game two of the double header. She threw a 3 hitter and struck out 5 in the performance. With this performance, Ellen stays undefeated on the season with an overall record of 8 wins and 0 losses.

She also came up big in the first game offensively when she hit a 3 run homerun in the bottom of the 6th inning to engage the 8 run mercy rule which ended the game with a score of 10-1.

The homerun was her 7th of the season.
