Maness Selected as SSAC Pitcher of the Week

Atlanta, Ga- The Southern States Athletic Conference has selected the softball Pitcher of the Week for last week and Freshman Anna Maness from Seagrove, NC has been named. Maness had a great week on the mound at the Gulf Coast Invitational, pitching 40 scoreless innings, defeating two conference opponents and beating #8 Martin Methodist with a four hit shutout. She also earned her first save of the year against a team that is receiving national votes (Central Methodist, MO). She only allowed three runs in the two losses on Sunday, just two of which were earned. The first loss was 2-0, the second 1-0. She received no run support for these losses. For the week, she had an overall record was 6 wins, 2 losses and 1 save.
