Housworth Named Competitive Cheer Head Coach
The Brenau University Athletic Department announces the hiring of Bralee Housworth to lead the Golden Tigers competitive cheerleading program.
Housworth takes over for former head coach Krista Britt, who started the competitive cheerleading program in 2011.
A native of Jefferson, Ga. Housworth has 10 years experience coaching gymnastics and cheerleading, including five years as the head cheerleading coach at East Jackson High School in Commerce, Ga.
"I want to have a successful program that young athletes dream of cheering for," said Housworth. "I also want the program to be recognized for their academic excellence and positive work in the community."
Housworth's depth of experience at Brenau includes serving as the team's assistant coach in 2021-22 and as a student-athlete on the inaugural Brenau competitive cheerleading team that finished as runners-up at the 2012 National Cheerleading Association national championships.
"I'm excited to be back at Brenau University in this role," said Housworth. "I can't wait to get this season started and to see what the future holds for the program."
