Competition Cheer Announces 2019-20 Signing Class
The Brenau competition cheerleading team and head coach Krista Britt announces the 2019-2020 recruiting class.
Eleven new student athletes-Goldon Bell, Carly Buffington, Juliana Cifuentes, Anahi Corillo, Haley Grimes, Niya Lane, Moriah Lee, Nadia Leggett, Kaylee Grace Lucas, Nicole Mulkey and Mandy Teaver join ten letter winners from last year's squad.
Bell, the daughter of Angel and Greg Williams, is a graduate of Central High School in Macon, Ga. While at Central, Bell was on the cheerleading and dance teams as well as a member of DECA, FBLA and FCA. Bell plans on majoring in business at Brenau.
Buffington, the daughter of Shelly Black and Brian Buffington, is a local athlete and a graduate of Gainesville High School in Gainesville, Ga. While at Gainesville, she was a member of the cheerleading team, DECA club and the Anchor Club. She plans on pursuing a degree in nursing at Brenau.
Cifuentes, the daughter of Jennifer and Sebastian Cifuentes, is a graduate of Johns Creek High School in Johns Creek, Ga. She was a member of the cheerleading team and an honor graduate, who plans on pursuing a degree in fashion design at Brenau.
Corillo, the daughter of Juanita Ibarra and Adhani Tueme, is a graduate of Cherokee Bluff High School in Flowery Branch, Ga. At Cherokee Bluff, she was the captain of the football and basketball cheer squads as well as a peer leader and a member of DECA. She plans on majoring in pre-Occupational Therapy at Brenau.
Grimes, the daughter of Michelle and Tracy Grimes, is a graduate of Johnson High School in Gainesville, Ga. While at Johnson, Grimes was the captain of the competition cheer team and a National Honors Society inductee. She plans on majoring in nursing at Brenau.
Lane, the daughter of Kamisha Tucker, is a graduate of Rockdale County High School in Conyers, Ga. During her prep career, Lee was a football and basketball cheerleader, a member of both FBLA and HOSA and plans on majoring in nursing.
Lee, the daughter of Tanya and Scott Lee, is a graduate of Kennesaw Mountain High School and a native of Powder Springs, Ga. During high school, Lee was both a standout gymnast and a cheerleader, who plans on majoring in mass communications at Brenau.
Leggett, the daughter of Marilyn and Gregory Leggett, is a graduate of Brookwood High School in Snellville, Ga. The flyer was a member of Brookwood's all-region championship team and plans on majoring in history and political science at Brenau.
Lucas, the daughter of Michele and Lee Lucas, is a graduate of Chestatee High School in Gainesville, Ga. She was member of the Chestatee cheerleading squad in high school and plans on majoring in nursing while at Brenau.
Mulkey, the daughter of DeAne and Keith Mulkey, is a graduate of Dawson County High School in Dawsonville, Ga. While in high school, Mulkey was an all-state selection and plans on majoring in biology with a pre-medical concentration.
Teaver, the daughter of Diane Teaver, is a local graduate from East Hall High School and a native of Lula, Ga. She was the first athlete from East Hall to sign a competitive cheerleading scholarship. While at Brenau, Teaver plans on majoring in health sciences at Brenau.
"We have worked hard to recruit these amazing athletes for next season," said head coach Krista Britt. "This recruiting class is packed with talent. We could not be more excited to have these young ladies join our Tiger Cheer Family."
