Cheer Competes At NCA National Championships
The Brenau competition cheerleading team earned at top-ten finish at the NCA-NDA Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championships in Daytona Beach, Fla.
After a solid preliminary showing qualified the squad for the finals, the Golden Tigers scored 89.62 points to place sixth nationally in the All-Girl III Division.
Alma College finished first with a score of 96.05, while Bridgewater State (95.57) and Elmira College (93.3), Montclair State (91.9) and Fitchburg State (90.52) rounded out the top five finishers.
The team graduates five, four-year seniors-Jametria Belo, Alyssa Biggs, Jordan Harris, Micah Rhodes and Melissa Wintermute- from this year's team as the squad looks to continue to grow going forward.
"I am proud of the girls for the work they put in this season," said head coach Krista Britt. "We had a few mistakes which cost us placing higher in Finals in a highly competitive division. We will get back to the grind of continuing to train and push ourselves to continue to grow and get better. "
