Cheer and Dance To Compete at SSAC Championships

The Brenau competition cheerleading and dance teams will both compete at the first Southern States Athletic Conference Cheer and Dance Championships on Saturday Jan. 28 at 1pm at Bandy Gymnasium at Dalton State College.

This is also the first season that cheer and dance are National Championship sports in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

Along with the Golden Tigers, cheer teams from Mobile (Ala.); Loyola (La.); Martin Methodist (Tenn.); Dalton State (Ga.) will compete, while only Loyola and Brenau will compete in the dance portion of the competition.

Schedule of Events

11:00 a.m. - Registration Open- @ Bandy Gymnasium

12:00 p.m. - Warm-ups (teams rotate onto the floor)

1:00 p.m. - SSAC Cheer & Dance Championship

2:00 p.m. - All Conference warm-ups (Athletes will rotate in areas on the floor for skills)

2:30 p.m. - All Conference

3:30 p.m. - Awards
