Cheer Team Visits Egleston
The Brenau University Competition Cheerleading team visited Egleston Children's Hospital in Atlanta to spend a few hours visiting with patients. The team did a variety of activities with the children, including dancing, cheering, face painting and a mini-pep rally.
Head Coach Krista Britt spoke about the experience: "Visiting the children at Egleston was an amazing experience. It is so important to give back with our time and resources. I hope we have the privilege of going back soon."
Freshman cheerleader, Erika Trott also discussed the visit: "I was so afraid I wouldn't be strong enough to see these children, but I was so inspired to see their faith in the doctors, nurses and in themselves to get through their illnesses. I can't wait to visit with these warm-hearted and brave children again!"
The visit was part of the commitment from the NAIA and Brenau University to promote the Champions of Character initiative, which supports the core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership.
Brenau Athletics is committed to the Champions of Character program through a variety of endeavors in the community.
