Golf Competes at Eagle Open; Kniess and Baker Garner All-Tournament Honors

The Brenau golf team opened the 2024-25 season with an outstanding showing at the Eagle Open, hosted by Reinhardt (Ga.) University at Lake Arrowhead Yacht and Country Club this past week.

The Golden Tigers notched two All-Tournament team members and placed all three players in the top-12.

Junior Laura Kniess led the squad with an overall third place finish. The Berlin, Germany native fired an even par 71 in the second round to propel her to a third place finish in the tournament. Kniess's 77-71-85-230 earned her a place on the All-Tournament team. 

Senior Sasha Baker also notched All-Tournament team honors with a solid 80-75-81-236 to finish in fourth place overall. In the second round, Baker had a strong front nine, shooting one under 33, and used that momentum to finish +4 for her strongest round of the tournament.

Fellow senior Kaylee Stickney also had a solid showing with an overall score of 82-85-95-262 to place 12th in the tournament.
