Golf Places Eighth at Roadrunner Invitational
Cohutta, Georgia- The Brenau golf team placed eighth at the Roadrunner Invitational, hosted by Dalton State College on October 20-22.
Junior Annika Blanton paced the Golden Tigers with a 24th place finish to lead the squad to a three-day total of 1030 (+60).
Blanton shot an 80-76-84—240 to finish at +28, while fellow junior Macie Hurst shot a consistent 81-82-81—244 to tie for 30th place.
Other Golden Tigers finishers include McKenzie McRee (+57/45th place), Abby Akin (+61/277) and Haylee Rhodes (+76/292).
Dalton State's Isabel Rios was the low medalist with a three-day score of 223 (+6) and was the catalyst for the host team's first place team finish. The Roadrunners posted with a total team score of 917 to take top team honors, while the University of Cumberlands (Ky.) captured second place (920) and the University of South Carolina-Beaufort took third place (938).
The tournament concludes the Golden Tigers' fall season as the squad takes a break before the spring season.
